WHAT CHANGED IN MONSTER TUTOR v0.2.2
Version 0.2.2 is a substantial story update rather than a small maintenance patch. The public release adds a new event for Ember, introduces Principal Lilith’s first dedicated story event, and expands the Zombie Girl introduction across several visits. These additions continue the game’s event-based structure: progress is made by completing earlier character scenes and then returning to the correct character or location when the next event becomes available.
The update also adds an experimental save-migration script intended to reduce the number of old saves that break when moving between versions. That matters on Android because Monster Tutor has changed enough over time that simply installing a new package has not always been the safest way to keep progress. The developer specifically advises Android players to transfer their save before moving to the latest Android build.
NETHERWORLD ACADEMY IS THE CENTER OF THE STORY
Monster Tutor starts with a simple setup: a human professor is sent to teach at Netherworld Academy, a university populated by monster students and staff. From there, the game develops through character-specific events rather than a traditional combat or management loop. The academy acts as a hub, while the story advances by meeting students, returning to them after earlier scenes, and following the requirements attached to individual routes.
That structure makes the game easier to follow when you treat each character arc as its own sequence. Some events only become available after another storyline has progressed far enough. In v0.2.2, for example, Principal Lilith’s new event is tied to progress in Erika’s story, so players who jump into an older save may need to finish earlier Erika content before the new scene appears.
MORE THAN A VERSION BUMP
The biggest problem with the older NerveFilter page was that it described systems that were not part of the verified game and still referenced v0.1.8. The official public Android build is now v0.2.2, and the game page lists Android alongside Windows, macOS, Linux, and HTML5. The Android file itself is considerably smaller than the outdated information previously shown on this page, so the app-information box has been corrected as well.
The developer has also reworked dialogue translations across the supported languages in this release. Monster Tutor currently supports a large language list, including English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Chinese variants, and others. Translation coverage is still being refined, but v0.2.2 specifically focuses on improving dialogue quality.
ANDROID UPDATE NOTES
Android players should be careful when moving from an older Monster Tutor package. The developer recommends uninstalling the old Android version after downloading the new one and transferring the save using the project’s save-sync instructions. Because modified APKs can also use a different application signature, backing up progress before changing builds is the safer approach.
The current public Android release is v0.2.2. A later v0.2.3 has been discussed for supporters, but it should not be presented as the public Android release until the developer actually publishes it for general download. This page therefore uses v0.2.2 rather than advertising an unreleased or supporter-only build as the latest public version.
WHY THIS BUILD IS A BETTER STARTING POINT
For new players, v0.2.2 is the most sensible starting point because it includes the newest public story content, the revised translation work, UI fixes, and the experimental save-compatibility system. Returning players get the same benefits without having to rely on the much older v0.1.8 information that was previously shown here. Monster Tutor remains an in-development visual novel, so future releases may add new routes and change progression again, but the details on this page now match the current public Android build.
